Rare Intense Inspired Champagne Bar

This summer marks the 17th anniversary of the Rare fragrance line at The Avon company. In 2004 the line launched with the 1st fragrance in the Rare collection called Rare Pears. This was also the year I joined Avon as an independent sales representative.
This year The Avon Company released 2 intense remakes of the classics, Rare Pearls Intense and Rare Gold Intense, plus a new addition to the line, Rare Platinum Intense. Smelling these fragrances takes me back to when I first joined Avon and was going to all the classes and hearing about all the potential that comes with a new business. Rare Pears was the fragrance on display at the time and now it reminds me of those days and my hopeful excitement.
Just like the Haiku Intense remakes I shared here on the blog a few months ago, this Rare intense collection also features more potent ingredients for a more luxurious feel and long-lasting wear. Plus the jewel-inspired bottles look so cute on my vanity!
Fragrance Notes:
Rare Pearls Intense - Soft floral and timeless
Top: Shimmering magnolia
Middle: white pepper
Base: creamy rosewood
Rare Gold Intense - creamy and indulgent
Top: Mandarin zest
Middle: ylang-ylang
Base: golden amber
Rare Platinum Intense - the freshest of the 3, still warm but a little crisper.
Top: Iris
Middle: warm ambrette
Base: smooth vetiver
All three Rare Intense fragrances give me classic and luxe vibes I decided to celebrate our dual anniversary and indulge in a little champagne bar. These are great for small gatherings or to make a girl’s night in feel more special. But they’re actually easy to set up and make it easier for guests to serve themselves so you can actually enjoy your gathering. All you’ll need is some champagne and a few of your favorite treats.
I was inspired by the mandarin top notes from the Rare Gold Intense to make a Mandarin Champagne Cocktail which I poured into gold-rimmed flute glasses. I shared the recipe in another post here so you can try it yourself.
For snacks champagne and chocolate is a classic to me so I had some chocolates, and added some in-season fruits; mandarins of course, as well as blueberries, and blackberries. Then just for fun tons of champagne-flavored gummy bears! You can either snack on these treats or add them to your champagne. I used the mandarin to add gold dusting sugar to the rim of each flute but you can also coat the rims of your glasses in your favorite chocolate.
Eye candy is just as important as flavors so I drew inspiration from the fragrance notes for the decorations I used like pearls and Magnolia blossoms.
Don’t forget to chill your champagne before serving, pour, and enjoy! Cheers.
