How To Make A Productive But Relaxing Bath Time Routine

There’s nothing like a cool relaxing bath after working around the house on a hot day. I promised myself that I would spend more time on personal care and my muscles were really crying out for some TLC. So, I decided to try a lemon balm bath. My mom grows it in her garden and always talks about the relaxing benefits, so I decided to add it to my bath. After a quick boil of the lemon balm leaves, I gathered all my Avon spa products and was ready to go.

I’m a milti-tasker even for bath time, so I love to get a couple of skin and hair care treatments done while I soak. It’s the perfect time for a hair mask and exfoliation. Basically, anything that you need to sit around and wait for. You’re not going anywhere anyway.

For hair, I used my favorite hair mask Avon Elastine PropoliThera. I just work it into my wet hair, put my hair up into a bun, and let it sit until I’m ready to wash off. You can use a shower cap too if you choose.

Today I was excited to try my new Veilment Natural Spa products. I got the Bamboo Charcoal Body Scrub and Cleanser so I decided that in keeping with the charcoal purifying theme I would also use my Anew Neutralize Anti-pollution Charcoal Mask Stick. I love how it pulls the gunk out of your skin and leaves your face feeling refreshed purified. I couldn’t wait to see if the Veilment Bamboo Charcoal did the same for my body. I really wanted the exfoliation from the little scrubbies which are made using natural ingredients like Korean bamboo charcoal, Israeli Dead Sea salt, apricot seed, and spruce.

It was perfect!

I didn’t realize that the fresh herbal fragrance from the lemon balm would pair perfectly with the refreshing forest scent of the Veilment Bamboo Charcoal. I had to look up the fragrance to see why they smelled so good together. It was a match made in heaven. As I soaked in the lemon balm water I massaged the Bamboo Charcoal directly onto my skin to slough away the ickies and reveled in the calming fragrances.

While I relaxed, I also massaged my face with the Avon Eclat D'or Youth Activating Massager. It’s perfect for getting the blood flowing to your face & décolletage. I don’t use it as often as I should but as I said, I wasn’t going anywhere any time soon so it was the perfect time. There’s also something really relaxing about the repetitive massaging motion and it makes your skin feel so good.

After my bath, my skin felt soft and looked like it had a new life. After rinsing off I followed up with my facial skincare routine starting with a light serum Dr. Blemeur Cica Peptite, my haircare routine with Chi, and for body lotion, I used my new Veilment Natural Spa Black Rose Body Essence. It’s a very very light body lotion containing brightening ceramides that are perfect for replenishing my skins barrier after a long bath and exfoliation. It also absorbs like a serum so it moisturizes well without feeling heavy.

After a refreshing bath, I always want to keep the light refreshing and clean feeling but I still need to moisturize or I’ll end up feeling dry. In the past, I just gave it up and just lived with it but after applying the Veilment Body Essence my skin felt like it did when I stepped out of the bath. I thought at first that I might need to apply a second coat of lotion but my skin stayed moisturized and I didn't need to add any more. It also has a wonderful fragrance of French rose oil and black currant. I had people asking me what I was using because it smelled so good.

Now, like my mom, I encourage everyone to try relaxing with a lemon balm bath. More on lemon balm here. But, I’m also going to add that the Veilment Natural Spa Bamboo Charcoal Body Scrub & Cleanser is the perfect scent to pair with it.

Have you tried a lemon balm bath before? How about the Veilment Spa collection? How do you like them? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments below.
