Why My Acne Prone Skin Loves Dr.Belmeur Skincare

One of my favorite things about the new Korean beauty trend (aka K-beauty) is its focus on protecting and healing skin versus just healing or just covering up. When Avon introduced Dr.Belmeur Cica Peptite Ampoule and Dr.Belmeur Advanced Cica Hydro Cream to our shops I gave them a try and I’m really excited about the change.

I’ve been a just cover it up person for years. Mostly because I couldn’t find products that did both but also because I kinda just got tired of fighting with my skin and settled on the belief that there was nothing I could do about my acne-prone, easily scarring skin.

I guess I figured that it would never change. The products I was using always seemed to be fighting an uphill battle where I would break out and scar faster than the scars would fade. Regardless of how much water I drank, how much I exercised, or how many favorite foods I nixed from my diet. Was it all worth missing my coffee & chocolate? Nope.

Boy was I wrong! Not about the coffee & chocolate though. It turns out I did not have to suffer without my favorites. I just needed to update my skincare regimen.

Among the new products I’ve added are Dr.Belmeur Cica Peptite Ampoule and Dr.Belmeur Advanced Cica Hydro Cream. I initially just wanted to try them as Avon introduced them to our product line, and I was hoping that the healing properties of the Cica might help brighten my complexion. I was surprised to see the way my skin is healing faster since I’ve added them to my regimen. Cica, short for Centella Asiatica Extract, aka tiger grass, a key ingredient in both the Peptite Ampoule and the Hydro cream helps to relieve irritation while helping to protect and heal skin

The Cica Peptite Ampoule is my favorite out of the two. It’s super-light and absorbs to feel like there’s nothing on your skin. It honestly feels more like water than serum. I started using it first and I noticed an improvement in the red areas on my skin. Then I realized I was having fewer acne breakouts too!

The Advanced Cica Hydro Cream also contains Beta-glucan to moisturize and Hyaluronic acid for added moisture. I used it mostly in the winter when I was seeing more dryness in my face from wearing a face mask. Its a cream so I would use it as my night cream as the last product after my other serums.

I’m currently on my second bottle of The Cica Peptite Ampoule and use it every day, both morning and evening. As the lightest serum in my regimen, it always goes on first after I wash my face.

Have you tried the Dr.Blemer products? They’re now available in my Avon shop along with the Dr.Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Cream. You can find them all here.
