Three Habits For Accomplishing More: #1 Purge

In my last post  Upcoming Series Three Habits for Accomplishing More I mentioned that this week I would share three upgrades I made at the start in 2016. The first habit I implemented was to set a goal to surround myself with positivity and distance myself from negativity.

I realized that I was internalizing problems that often had nothing to do with me and allowing other 

peoples opinions or experiences shape my outlook. I was getting frustrated and discouraged but couldn't figure out why.

To overcome this I made a plan to change my atmosphere. I backed away from anything that left me feeling drained or discouraged. Then replaced it with positivity. I tuned out bad news from any source and instead read at least one personal development article every day. I sought out and got plugged in to groups of other people who were serious about achieving success instead of just making excuses and would hold me accountable for doing the same.

I basically got off the pity party train and tossed the t-shirt, hat, and balloons. It wasn't easy and I won't lie, I've gone back and pulled them out a few times but those moments didn't last long when I was surrounded by people who have encouraging, uplifting, motivational things to say. Once I was able to clear the air of all the gunk I felt much better about tackling the things I needed to.
