OOTD: New York City Comic Con Day 1
Last weekend was New York City Comic Con! For the first time I decided that I wanted to get dressed up, started looking for a costume... and then I punked out. Cosplay has never really been my thing but when you're in the crowd and surrounded by all the cosplayers and having fun, you get tempted. My
temptation only lasted for short while though.
Still, I wanted to take advantage of being able to be my full on nerdy self and then some. So, I ended up not wearing a costume but I did pull out all my usual nerd swag. I was surprised to find what I could throw together with my regular wardrobe pieces. Some of which came from Avon like my Cushion Walk Tall Rider boots and mark. Draw to a Close Bag shown below. My outfit for NYCC Day 2 also featured a mark. blouse.
On day one I wore my Doctor Who Dalek dress which I've worn in the past on regular workdays, evenings out, and yes just running errand days. So I really don't consider it a costume, it's just another dress to me. But it's always fun to meet other whovians who recognize the outfits and strike up conversations to meet new people you already have something in common with.
By the way I'm still looking for a Weeping Angels tee. I have "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" which is always fun to wear and have strangers who actually get what it means come up to me and talk about it.
