Fresh Spring Vibes in the Most Comfortable Green Chelsea Boots
Chelsea boots are my new favorite rain boots! The rubber construction not only makes them lightweight and water-resistant but super comfortable.
For what began as a gloomy rainy day that turned out to be a gorgeous sunny spring day. I paired these green Mercantile Chelsea Rain Boots from J. Crew with this mint green sweater from H&M, a favorite pair of black distressed jeans, and of course I never leave home without my Baus Agenda.
The great thing about Chelsea boots is that they don't stand out as your typical obvious “rain boots”. The kind that you step out in on what looks like a rainy day, that turns out not to be, and instead becomes a day of people asking you if it's going to rain because you have rain boots on.
I've found myself wearing these more than I ever thought I would. On construction site visits, to run errands, days where I know I’m going to be on my feet for hours, or when going for long walks. Suddenly I find myself strolling more often.
I never really appreciated long walks. I realize that now.
I was always in too much of a hurry to stroll. For me walking is just a way to get from point A to point B, the faster and the shorter the better. Unless I was avoiding taking public transit or traffic, long walks were rare and certainly not for the heck of it.
But there have been more times lately where I’ve been able to get up early to get out before everyone else. In those rare moments I’ve found myself slowing down and taking the time to appreciate the sun on my face, and the fresh air, and the fresh spring vibes. Even on the rainy days.
This was one of those rare moments. It started as a rainy day so no one was outside but then the sun came out and the day turned out to be lovely. I’m glad I had a chance to enjoy it before it got too “peopley” and I returned to my usual speed.
