Affordable Spring Work Wear Casual In White

Hey there lovelies,

Anyone in need of some color to brighten your day, and lift your spirits?

Lately we call can use a little lift and a little color in your outfit goes a long way.

What do you imagine when you think of colors that lift your spirits and make you feel good?

I usually picture vibrant tropical colors. Yellows, corals, hot pinks, or turquoise. Lately though, white outfits and accessories have also been catching my eye. I know someone out there might be thinking white? That's the complete lack of color. Hear me out though...

Imagine a field in springtime with lines of freshly washed, crisp white sheets on a bright breezy sunny day. So clean and vibrant! You can almost smell the freshness. Did you subconsciously take a breath?

I know, it’s the total opposite of my usual black and blue outfit colors (You know how much I love my black and blue #ootds). But lately I can’t resist whites and creams

I usually stay away from lighter colors because it’s so hard for me to stay clean. I’m like a kid. I always have ink on my hands and even when I’m trying to be careful I’ll still be the one to have my foundation explode. Still, there’s just something about the crisp clean of white that brightens things up and catches my eye.

Recently I’ve been adding more whites to my wardrobe and this Liz Clairborne jacket was love at first sight, then love at second sight after I realized it had a hood!

Hoods and pockets are everything I need in any clothing item.

Not to mention, the fabric is surprisingly soft. The lines are so clean and feature a detail on the sides and hood that remind me of quilting. Despite not having typical feminine silhouette like an a-line or “frilly-ness” it’s tailored and looks elegant enough to even dress up distressed jeans.

Plus, vibrant enough to brighten even a rainy day. It’s also water-resistant to help keep you dry. Cute & functional. A steal for its extremely affordable sale price of under $40 at JC Penny. Make sure you ask about any additional discounts.

The fit is true to size and I’m wearing a Large. I tried on the extra-large at first but found there was no need to size up to be able to accommodate a lightweight sweater.

This light cream sweater I wore with it is my new favorite sweater. It’s the fine-knit sweater from H&M. It’s super soft and so cozy! Perfectly professional for work and comfy enough for snuggling up at home. Which these days, is the same. It’s currently on sale for under $20.

Even though we’re officially in spring it’s still chilly enough for a sweater but I can finally ditch the winter coat. This jacket is perfect for this weather when paired with a lightweight sweater like this one. But, I also think it’ll transition well into warmer temps if paired with a lightweight blouse or tee.

Did I mention how soft this sweater it is? It’s so soft! I love it!

The fit is true to size with a relaxed fit, I’m wearing a large.

Since I decided on distressed jeans I added a pair of light grey heels, just to elevate the look away from being too casual.

I love playing with mixing elegant or work wear with casual elements like graphic tees with blazers and heels.
